Terms of use.

The archive is built for evidence, context, and good-faith investigation—not certainty without support.

Using the site

You may browse the public archive and, where available, comment or submit material. You must be at least 13 years old; minors should use the service only with a parent or guardian. Do not misuse the service, interfere with its operation, or attempt to access private submissions or owner controls.

Your submissions

You keep ownership of original material you submit. You grant Paranormal Sightings a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, review, reproduce, format, display, distribute, and promote the submission as part of the archive and its coverage. This license ends when the material is permanently removed, except for reasonable backups, legal records, and copies already shared by others.

You confirm that the submission is yours or that you have permission to share it, and that publishing it will not violate privacy, copyright, publicity, confidentiality, or other rights.

Prohibited content

Do not submit unlawful material, threats, harassment, sexual exploitation, graphic violence without clear public-interest context, private identifying information, malware, spam, deceptive impersonation, or copyrighted work you do not have permission to share. Do not knowingly present staged or altered media as an authentic witness record.

Review and removal

Every witness upload enters a private review queue. We may publish, label, restrict, reject, edit for formatting, anonymize, or remove material at our discretion. Publication does not mean we endorse a paranormal explanation. We may preserve information needed to investigate abuse or respond to legal claims.

Comments, verdicts, observations, and accounts

Visitors may submit comments without signing in by providing a name or alias. Every comment is privately reviewed and may be approved, rejected, edited for formatting, or removed. Community verdicts, case following, and timestamped evidence observations may still require ChatGPT sign-in so participation can be attributed and duplicate actions prevented. Be specific, civil, and evidence-focused. Verdict totals represent visitor opinion, not authentication or an editorial conclusion. Contributions may be restricted for spam, harassment, manipulation, or repeated policy violations.

Editorial analysis

Case notes are editorial assessments based on the public record available at the time. “Unidentified” does not mean extraterrestrial or supernatural, and “explained” does not make every detail certain. Statuses may change as better evidence or official analysis becomes available.

No warranties

The site and its content are provided “as is.” We do not guarantee that any submission is authentic, complete, safe to rely on, continuously available, or correctly interpreted. Do not use this site as a substitute for emergency, legal, medical, aviation, law-enforcement, or scientific advice.

Copyright and corrections

Rights holders and people shown in material may use the contact form to request review. Choose Copyright / takedown and identify the exact material, your relationship to it, and the requested action. Good-faith correction requests are also welcomed.

Changes

These terms may be revised as the archive grows. Material updates will carry a new effective date. If you do not agree with an update, stop using the service and request removal of your eligible personal submission.
